Kite spot
In southern Sardinia you can find several kite spots Punta Trettu, Porto Botte, Is Solinas and Porto Pino. Each spot works in different wind directions, water conditions from flat water to waves up to 1 meter. Depending on the wind direction, Kitesurfsardinia school chooses the best beach for kite lessons. From May to September we are working at Punta Trettu. Punta Trettu has become one of the most famous kite spots in Europe thanks to good wind statistics, stable wind and flat water. The safe spot with shallow water and sandy bottom is suitable for beginners and advanced kiters.
Kite spot works with 3 wind directions Mistral (blowing from North-West) and Sirocco (blowing from South-East) and Levante(blowing from East). The main wind direction Mistral brings fresh cold air has a thermic effect, which gives in sunny weather an additional 5-8 knots to the Windguru or Windy forecast.
The wind usually starts blowing from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The average speed is between 15 and 25 knots.
